Justine Petrillo returned from the Four Square World Champion with her top title for two years in a row, and once again was acknowledged by the Mayor of the City of Cambridge for her achievements. On March 3, 2008, Justine was presented with a proclamation from the Cambridge City Council, that read as follows:
Proclamation, Mayor E. Denise Simmons, City of Cambridge,
WHEREAS:
Justine Petrillo of Cambridge, MA, earned the Women's Four Square World
Champion title for the second year running at the Four Square World
Championships on February 16, 2008, in Bridgton, ME. Justine rose to the
top of over 100 competitors registered across the men's and women's
divisions; and
WHEREAS:
Justine is a member of Cambridge's local Squarefour league, a competitive
league of adult four square players that was founded in 2003 by Sean Effel
and Dana Ostberg in order to make this fun, challenging and strategic game
more accessible and build a supportive and social community of athletes.
Justine ranks among the top players in the league for many years running and
once again ranks number one in the world; and
WHEREAS:
The City of Cambridge has the first and the best of a great many things in
this world and is proud count Justine Petrillo among those who eat, sleep,
work and, best of all, play in our city; now therefore be it
RESOLVED:
That the City Council go on record as congratulating Justine Petrillo, the 2007 and 2008 Women's World Champion of Four Square; and be it further
RESOLVED:
That the City Clerk be and hearby is requested to prepare a suitably engrossed copy of this proclamation for presentation to Justine Petrillo.
